Another slightly different year... Of course we counted on the fact that 2021 will be a "first" - after all, travelling with a half-empty 30-litre backpack and X bags full of diapers, snacks and spare clothes is quite a difference. What the heck, even that packing and the long hikes we did were picked up pretty quickly. But what no one probably fully counted on was that the coronavirus would be in office for much of this year...
January, February, March, April... at home = no gym, no cafes, no hotels, with only short trips around the area that failed to satisfy me completely. The lockdown seemed endless, so in early May we simply and simply lost our nerve and
moved to Croatia for 14 days. Nina's first trip abroad, yay! This reinforced to us that you can travel with a baby, and that it's all about WANTING... and we do, that's for sure :) That's why we are spending a
week in Switzerland in July, where the weather is not exactly favoring us twice, but somehow we'll manage to make the most of it. Then I planned another bigger trip for September, when we went on a
10 day roadtrip in Italy, with the aim to see Tuscany in particular. I have to brag here - I planned it perfectly! :)
Then, as part of the last foreign trip of 2021, there was another "first". Finally, we are taking Donut on a plane - in November to Warsaw for a long weekend. After car, bus, train, boat, tram and cable car, she ticked off another, and for us quite important, means of transport. So far, she has managed all our trips quite comfortably, because most of the time she doesn't care where she is, as long as she has something to look at. I hope that this flexibility will last for a while, because I already have some plans for next year in my head, so we'll see if plans meet reality :)
